Bartle bound for Notre Dame

Toronto standout inks with Falcons

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame Baseball announced today that Jesse Bartle of Toronto, Ontario, has signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career with the Falcons.

Bartle, a 6-foot-2 infielder, was his team's (Humberside Collegiate Institute) MVP each of the last two seasons (2008-09). He was also named the school's Athlete of the Year when he was a junior (2007-08).

The son of Scott and Sally Bartle plans on beginning classes at NDC in the fall as an education major.

Notre Dame Baseball was instituted in 2005. The Falcons compete in the nine-team American Mideast Conference as an NAIA program. On March 23, the College announced plans to file for membership in NCAA Division II.

Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Department of Athletics sponsors the Falcons' participation in 21 men's and women's intercollegiate sports. The College is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC). In 2008-09, Notre Dame athletic programs rank No. 30 in the nation, based on the NAIA Director's Cup all-sports ranking as published by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
