Grove City standout headed for College Road

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame Baseball announced today that Simon Davis of Grove City, Ohio, has signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career with the Falcons.
Davis, a 5-foot-10 outfielder, is a 2009 graduate of Central Crossing High School (Grove City), where he was a four-year letterman for the Comets and Head Coach Scott Todd. He closed out his CCHS career in the spring by earning first-team all-district and All-Ohio Capital Conference honors.
The son of Todd and Donna Davis plans on beginning classes at NDC in the fall as an education major.
Notre Dame Baseball was instituted in 2005. The Falcons compete in the nine-team American Mideast Conference as an NAIA program. On July 10, the NCAA announced that Notre Dame had a membership application approved and that the College will begin the 2009-10 academic year as a Candidacy Year-One institution in the NCAA Division II membership process.
Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Department of Athletics sponsors the Falcons' participation in 21 men's and women's intercollegiate sports. The College is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC). In 2008-09, Notre Dame athletic programs ranked No. 34 in the nation, based on the NAIA Director’s Cup all-sports ranking as published by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
