Notre Dame rolls in AHIBC tourney
MONROE, Mich.--The Notre Dame Falcons competed in the fourth AHIBC tournament of the season over the weekend, and the men’s bowling team placed eleventh out of 28 teams while the women finished eighth in a pool of 11 teams.

Rolling on a PBA chameleon pattern, both the men and women bowled five individual games, and 15 baker games, against some of the top teams in the nation at Nortel Bowling Lanes.

For the men, Reggie Hawthorne led the way with 959 pins over five games (191.8 average), and turned in a team best, 215 for his high game. Max Johnson and Nikita Johnson also rolled deuces for the Falcons, with scores of 202 and 204 respectively.

For the women, Emily Clevenger’s total pin fall of 833 (166.6 average) paced the Falcons, while Kirstie Hegedus was a close second, averaging 157.8 (789 total pin fall) over five games. Clevenger’s 218 was a team-high.

“We continue to see the team grow as a unit and as individuals,” said Head Coach Jeff Robinson. “We are encouraged by the progress the team is showing.”

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday Feb. 20, at the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.
