NDC looks to jam the gym with a white-out for Saturday telecast

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame Campus Activities, Falcon Athletics and NDC Alumni Relations will be sponsoring a number of exciting events surrounding Notre Dame's televised basketball doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Campus Activities is asking all Falcon fans in attendance at the Saturday games against Northwestern Ohio (women's game at 2 p.m., men's game to follow at 4 p.m.) to “white-out” the stands of Murphy Gymnasium by dressing in white. To assist with the effort, free t-shirts will be distributed to Notre Dame students at both games. Logo promotional items will also be distributed throughout the afternoon.

The games between the Falcons and Racers will be broadcast on SportsTime Ohio (STO). The NDC men's game against Northwestern Ohio will be aired on tape delay at 10 p.m. on Saturday, with the women's game following at 12 a.m. STO will re-air the games on Feb. 14 (men 12 p.m., women 2 p.m.). The women's game will also be rebroadcast on Monday, Feb. 15, at 10 p.m.

NDC to honor grapplers on Saturday
Notre Dame President Dr. Andrew P. Roth will take part in a special ceremony at halftime of the men's game on Saturday. Head Coach #Frank Romano# and his top-ranked (No. 1, NAIA Coaches' Poll) Wrestling Falcons will be on hand to be presented with the championship trophy the team earned at last month's NAIA National Duals.

NDC Wrestling has been the top-ranked team in the nation for 12 weeks, and their title at the National Duals is the first national title won by a Ohio-based collegiate wrestling program since 1976. The Falcons currently sport a 9-1 record on the season, having won eight straight matches by a combined score of 268-34. NDC's final regular-season match is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14, when the Wrestling Falcons host West Liberty (W. Va.) in a 1 p.m. dual meet at Murphy Gymnasium.

Alumnae return to College Road
Also on Saturday, former women's basketball players will return to the home hardwood of Murphy Gymnasium in the program's annual Alumnae Game, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

For the varsity Falcons, both games against UNOH on Saturday have postseason implications in the American Mideast Conference. Both the men's and women's teams are battling for key positions in the final AMC standings, with just 10 days left in the regular season.
