Falcons finish 12th

Notre Dame women's bowling team places 12th at Sectional tournament

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Notre Dame women's bowling team placed 12th out of 14 teams at the ITC Sectional tournament this weekend.

The Allentown Sectional was one of four tournaments nationwide. The top four seeds in each sectional qualified for the ITC National tournament in El Paso, Texas. The Falcons sent sophomore #Emily Clevenger#, and freshmen #Cassi Sakenes#, #Marshae Sanders#, #Kayla Dukes# and #Kirstie Hegedus#.

The Falcons bowled on a 43-foot oil pattern, in which the lane conditioner was placed on the lane at a 3-to-1 ratio. The tournament format included 64 baker games, 32 each day on Saturday and Sunday. The Falcons finished with a score of 10,241.

"Coach Hoover and I are extremely proud of the ladies," said Head Coach #Jeff Robinson#. "The ladies represented Notre Dame College well all weekend. Our lack of experience currently at this level certainly affected our finish, but the ladies did a great job of bowling as a team, and they all learned how to transition their games as the lane condition changed each day."

ACADEMIC ALL AMERICANS: Three Falcon Bowlers earn Academic All American Awards present by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association. This Award is presented to any collegiate bowler who obtains a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Falcon bowlers Emily Clevenger, Kirstie Hegedus and #Matt Roche# all earned Academic All American Awards.
