PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons snapped their four match losing streak on Wednesday afternoon, with a convincing 7-2 victory over Penn State-Behrend, for their first victory since March 4.
The win for Notre Dame (6-7) was their first since returning home from their trip down to Florida during spring break. Notre Dame also snapped their 13 game losing streak in doubles play, when the team of
Cory Meek and
Geoff Becktell defeated Kelly Manning and Jake Fling, 8-3.
Jimmy Goodwin (7-6) won his third match in a row, defeating Chris Galvin 6-1, 6-3. Junior
Andy Sherman (7-5) took care of Manning in two sets, 6-2, 6-0. Becktell (6-7) went unbeaten on the afternoon, defeating Fling 6-0, 6-0, and
Kyle Roche (2-7) scored his first victory since March 4, after he ran through Jake Grosch, 6-2, 6-1.
The Falcons are back in action on Thursday, April 8, when they take on Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) at Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, Ohio. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
